Brooks Is Back.....

After a long hard layoff, Paul Brooks and the Out-A-Time racing team will make their much welcomed return to action in 2007, and although looking similar from the outside, the Sierra will be a whole new animal underneath.

At the Easter Thunderball 2004, the B1 Chyrsler motor in Paul's Sierra failed spectacularly when the crankshaft sheared itself in half. With only the cylinder heads and carburettors being salvageable, the team considered throwing in the towel on the potent purple machine. However, with Paul never being one to give up, a rebuild was soon on the cards. A stumbling block was thrown his way soon after however, as the new SFI rules were announced and rendered the Sierra illegal for competitive sub-8.50 competition. Once again though, the team regrouped, and the car currently resides in ICE Automotive's Silverstone emporium where resident chassis guru Steve Green is feverishly beavering away constructing a 25.1E chromoly frame for the car.

Paul sent us these two shots of the car under construction..........

With the B1 lump now rebuilt and based around a solid Sonny Bryant crankshaft, the ICE Automotive fettled bullet should ensure solid seven second passes from the outset for the team.

Externally, the Sierra will appear just as before, however a Pro Mod style rear aerofoil is planned if funds allow.
