History: The Oldsmobile was imported
from the USA by Tony Rose and in 1993 became the first
european doorslammer to record a 6 second ET. After
considerable success in Pro Modified it was purchased
by Nick Davies, who continued to campaign it in Pro
Mod after a brief foray in Super Gas. Nick recorded
a 6.69 second run with the car and sold it to Graham
after it was parked at the culmination of the 2000 season.
After running the destroked 706ci engine in a 555ci
displacement, normally aspirated form as part of the
2002 Super Mod Championship, the car was returned to
it's Pro Mod roots for the Doorslammer event at the
end of the year. Once again the car recorded a string
of 6 second passes and won "the most hectic
event we've ever entered....8 rounds plus qualifiers!!".
2003 saw the car switch to a smaller 475ci nitrous
engine and set ET and speed records on the way to a
runner-up points finish. The car was rebuilt in April
last year after an accident at Santa Pod and again set
the ET and speed records for the revised rule configuration.
