A mixed weekend for Ellis Racing

Rob Millward, Crew Chief for Graham Ellis' Olds Cutlass has been in touch with his own review of the teams Power Nats exploits.

"Well obviously we're pretty pleased with our performance at the weekend, it wasn't looking too good to start with however, as when I spotted a bit of flakey paint on the chassis it turned out to be a 3" long crack around the top front strut mount! Fortunately Kev Taylor & co came to the rescue & loaned us a TIG plant & big generator, enabling us to make the first qualifier for which we would like to say thanks guys! First pass was interesting as we went with very low tyre press due to a faulty gauge. We came out for the second one with the correct tyre press & bingo 7.58 @ 180 mph ! The rest of the weekend was a bit of an anti-climax due to the weather, lets hope the big bang is better."

"While we are giving out the thank you's, can we say thanks to Motor Shack, as this is our first weekend using Klotz 118 race fuel, also thanks to Chris at Wisbech American Street & Performance (01945 588091) for helping out with a new radiator & some other race parts. Thats it for now see you all at the pod,"

Cheers,
Rob
