The return of the tiger..or was it more like a tabby?!!

After a miserable damage plagued start to the year, and subsequently sitting out much of the season, the Euro Finals marked the return to competition of Tim Garlick's Rover powered Cortina. Entered in Super Pro for the event, it seems the problems may be behind him.....

"Thanks to Rob and Nick at ICE working round the clock, we managed to get the Rover finished and in the hole on the Wednesday of the Euro Finals. I had,in all honesty hoped to make the last round at Avon, but as usual anything we want for this engine takes twice as long as you Chevy boys, but as I still have the second fastest car in SUMO, its worth the wait!!"

"We spent most of the weekend doing part runs on a gentle tune as after sitting out most of the year, rushing was not on the agenda. We ended up with an easy 8.1 and an engine that is finally showing some signs of stability. I am looking forward to meeting you lot at the October finals where hopefully we can start to lean on it again and better that "second fastest" position!!"

"On a different note, it was good to catch up with Nigel Payne and Paul Mander at the weekend who are both bringing their cars out next year, and even though he is soon to be dragged kicking and screaming down the aisle we are to have the pleasure of Mr Rob Smallworths company in the 2006 season! This means we should have a minimum of 12 competitors for next year with at least another 5 hoping to join us at some point. With so many cars for next year its hard to understand why the class has been in the doldrums all season, but lets hope 06 is a better year."

"Just focus on that last point......Minimum 12 car field at Easter!!"
