The
Easter Thunderball proved to be a memorable meeting for Andy
and the team, due to a reason that they'd sooner forget...
As
Andy tells it....."Well the weekend could have gone
better . It started ok, an 8 flat out of the box with a bit
of a lift as the car seemed to launch to the left. The second
lap was 8.1 with a bigger lift as the car went harder to the
left so we pondered whether to make some changes to the car
or not. For the third pass the only change we made was from
the left lane as the previous two laps were in the right. It
cured that problem, the launch was straight and hard but then
we seemed to have a bigger problem (who let the rods out!) I
can't say anything about what happened next that hasn't been
said already. Upon closer examination it would appear to be
cylinder wall failure that was the start of the carnage".
"I would like to thank the Santa Pod Raceway crew for a
very quick clean-up, Gleeson Wright Security, my crew cheif
Mick Coombs, and many friends who are doing their best to allow
us to be out at Shakespeare County Raceway with our recycled
block from a certain big black Chevy truck (recycled Super Street
parts.....cant be!)".
"Commiserations
to the other victims and congratulations to Kev and Andy , It
shows again that anything can happen and you dont need to be
super quick to get good points, and for us definately a case
of HERO to ZERO!"
"See
you at the park"
