A step closer for Kirk Motorsport.

Andy Kirk has been in touch to provide his take on the last round at Santa Pod Raceway......

"Round 3 at the Pod's Big Bang was what you might call hectic. With all the crew missing through illness, Saturday qualifying was all hands to the pumps. Crew Chief Lee and Mrs SuMo, Barb did a fine job covering all the bases."

"Qualifying netted an 8.12 best but brought with it more clutch woes and a new twist, fuel pressure problems!. Glen Walker from Brooks Motorsport (thanks Paul!) joined us on Sunday along with full timer Baggy who was fresh from his sick bay!."

"Having the 'box out in-between most runs was taking its toll and we only made it into the staging lanes for round one against Craig Gibbs courtesy of a large oil down on the track. A surprising 8.07 took the win and a chance for a nice Sunday cruise up the strip during a semi-final bye. Yet again we met Andy Hone and the final was a humdinger, as our 8.05 beat Fred's 7.97 (3 cheers for the driver!!). The win puts us in number one spot in the championship as Graham Ellis' charge unfortunately sufferes engine damage."

"Altough the class is suffering through a lot of attrition at present I feel that Super Modified is as strong as ever."

"Big thanks to my family & crew, to Glen & Paul at Brooks Motorsport, Laurie Gatehouse at P.S.I and all the fans that wished us well over the weekend."

"P.S. Rob Smallworth, Paul Brooks and Tim Garlick we miss you guys, hope you get back soon. To Simon Farmer, hope the damage wasn't too bad and you can get out again real soon. Paul Mander get that car finished man, we need you! And Finally to Team Ellis, hope the damage wasn't too bad 'cos we've got your number one spot and you're gonna have to come and get it!"

"Cheers,"

Andy
