Super
Modified...behind the scenes III

With
three entries at the previous meeting, Kirk Motorsport decided
to enter a second 'R&D' vehicle for the Finals. It was
a short lived affair as pilot Barbara Kirk sprained her wrist
during the burnout.

After
many years of speculation, it's official, Elvis lives! And
he drives an Oldsmobile....

After
a successful return outing at the Euro FInals, it was back
to business at last for Tim Garlick Racing.

After
also running in Super Pro ET at the Euro's, Simon Farmer returned
to the Super Mod ranks with a string of low 8.20's.

With
their troubles seemingly firmly behind them, Obsession Motorsport's
'never say die' attitude paid dividends at the National Finals
as Craig got the family Camaro firmly rooted in the sevens.

With
Paul Brooks out of action since his unfortunate crank snapping
incident at Easter, Crew Chief Glen Walker has been on hand
at the track all year helping out numerous teams. At the National
Finals he was again doing duty in the Kirk Motorsport pits.

Another
team that experienced a testing time during '05 were the F&M
Racing gang. After numerous headaches throughout the year
a consistent string of 7.80's marked a much welcomed return
to form.

The
final runs of '05 went to Tim Garlick and Graham Ellis. After
staying right alongside each other 'til the eigth, a crushed
piston signalled the end of a dead cert personal best run
for Tim. Graham marched on to the winners circle with another
outstanding low 7.60.

After
a turbulent time this year, and despite some damage in the
final, the meeting cemented Tim Garlick as a serious contender
for next season.

Graham
Ellis 'wanted' it more than enough! After very little seat
time this year, Graham returned to the top step of the podium
with a very convincing performance.

Despite
crew and driver duties for Steve Rawlings at the National
Finals, the Ellis Racing team reunited for the final round
against Tim Garlick. Truly a team effort this year, they swept
the board and won every round of competition they entered
all year.
