Steve Rawlings and team pleased to survive!

As Steve puts it....."Phew! We managed to survive the carnage in the Super Mod field this Easter, with myself and Kev Perkins being casualties last year!"

"So how did our weekend go? Having got the motor buttoned up after the tech inspection on Friday night, we fired her up Saturday morning only to find we had two core plugs leaking! By the time these were replaced we had missed the first qualifying session, however we did make the second. After a delay for rain and cooking our nitrous bottle we could only manage a thirteen. On Sunday, due to rain, oil-downs etc. we as a class only had one qualifying session, and we managed to to run an 8.07 for the fifth spot."

"The first round on Sunday matched us against Craig Gibbs, who's no slouch on the lights (unlike myself!). I felt we had a slight performance advantage, but if I didn't watch it he would win this on the tree. Unfortunately for Craig he suffered a huge nitrous burp on the line and we took the win with a 7.96 @ 172."

"Second round put us up against Kev Perking who ran a 7.6 to our 8.1......end of story!"

"Oh well, we'd learnt a bit more, survived in one piece and enjoyed the weekend. There are a few electrical gremlins to be worked out before the next meet and the lorry still needs some work, and I hope that the guys who suffered damage at the weekend get sorted quickly"

"See you all soon"

Steve.
